6. They want to know it all. They have what I call “The-Know-It-All-Mentality”. They’re passionate about their studies and want to know every possible detail about it.
This is one factor I find even true of myself! *Every real genius is always dispassionate with himself whenever he encounters a question or problem he is yet to know about, in his course or discipline*.
For everytime I find myself not getting any question right, I feel mad about myself! It is not that I should know everything, it is just that I should have every possible detail about my discipline. This is what trully makes one a genius ~ your ability to know so much than others can imagine in your area. It is to be a master in your area! Have you actually come to this point?
Now listen to this: there is no limit to what you can know as a student. No knowledge is a waste! What you know today, you’ll need tomorrow. It may not be in the course outline but it sure will improve your efficiency in your discipline. You’re
the only one to determine what you can know if you can study consistently. *You can even know more than your teachers if you dare*. I challenge you today to become zealous and passionate with your studies! Every knowledge about your course and even outside it is worth knowing. Develop a strong hunger for knowledge today!
I tell my clients to “personalise knowledge” ~ to make knowledge their own. You can know your course more than anyone else. You can even know it so well that they’ll use your name to refer to the course or vice versa! It’s just up to you to determine whether to know it all or just to know little. Perhaps you need to also know that what makes you the best is that you know more than every other student in your area and you can also reproduce it whenever you’re called upon. This is what I call “pocketing knowledge”. It is what you know that makes you known! The more you know, the more you are known and the more your relevance grows. So how much are you willing to know about your discipline?
Bottom line: philosophically speaking, knowing-it-all is an exaggeration! But it entails that you’ve gotten so much knowledge and information about your course that people begin to exaggerate. Often times I hear students and even teachers say this about me! It’s very possible to attain. But can you dare it? I have! You can! Why not try?
