4. They don’t take anything for granted. They take everything serious. They don’t play with classes and the teacher’s exact words.
Another factor responsible for the greatness of so many successful students is that they’re meticulous with their studies. They don’t play with what some of us call “little things”. True success lies in being faithful in little things. ~ Chizi Daniels. What students fail to understand is that it is these little things that culminate into academic greatness. Little drops of rain, they say, make a mighty ocean! It’s time t become serious with your studies and pay attention to those little things like attending class, doing assignments, researching, taking tests etc. What and what have you taken for granted as a student? Now is the time to become serious with your studies and do first things first! Wisdom is to know what to do, when to do it and how to do it.
It’s time to do just that! They also pay attention to the teachers’ exact words and ideas. These matter so much because they reflect the teachers’ view on such topics and subjects. This is where you must begin. Having a good grasp of this will usher you into understanding that topic or subject and also going forward to develop your own ideas. Most times, when you say it the way the teacher said it, you assure them that you’re their student and that you clearly understood what they taught. This makes them really impressed with you. Once they see their words and ideas, they will not hesitate to give you the marks.
The truth is that your ‘A’ in any course is ‘scattered’ around these little things. You have to gather it up by minding little things that count. Watch this; to score an ‘A’, you need to do well in your C.A [which is a culmination of little things like attending class, taking test(s), doing assignments etc]; and also do well in your exams. This is also a culmination of little things like constant reading, listening in class, researching, discussions etc. These little things are where your ‘A’ is scattered around. And if your dream is ‘A’, then you must not take any of them for granted, you must treat all of them with utmost seriousness cos just one of them can push you away from your ‘A’. So, you’ve got to take them all serious! If you remove a farthing from a million, it will no longer become a million. For you to count your ‘million’, every farthing must count then! Any little thing can add or detract from your ‘A’. So my word for you is: Learn to take every bit of your studies serious and don’t take anything for granted if you want your ‘A’ to be guaranteed! It’s time to become serious…
